I. What Is The Mission Of EBC?

“The mission of Emmanuel Baptist Church is to faithfully declare God’s Word, demonstrate God’s love, and disciple God’s people in Christ Jesus.”


II. What Is The Purpose Of EBC?

The purpose of this body of believers is to glorify and honor God:

 A. By Promoting Godly Worship (Psalm 96:7-9)

 B. By Edifying Believers (Ephesians 4:11-12)

 C. By Proclaiming the Gospel (Acts 1:8)

 D. By Encouraging Fellowship (Acts 2:42)

 E. By Serving the Community (Galatians 6:10)

 F. By Defending the Faith (Jude 3)

 G. By Supporting Missionaries (Acts 13:2-3)


III. What Is The Philosophy Of Ministry Of EBC?

 A. This Church will be God Centered (Romans 11:33, 36)

 B. This Church will be a Place Where Believers are Challenged with the Word of God (Hebrews 10:25)

 C. This Church will Model Biblical Leadership (1 Timothy 3:1-13)

 D. The Church will be Creative and Relevant to Today’s Changing World (Acts 2:44-47)


IV. What Are The Core Values Of EBC?

 A. To Bring God Glory in Everything We Do (Colossians 3:17)

 B. To Preach and Teach the Inerrant Word of God (2 Timothy 4:1-5)

 C. To Ferverantly Pray (Ephesians 6:18)

 D. To Carry Out the Great Commission:

   1. In Evangelism (Mark 16:15)

   2. In Discipleship (Matthew 28:19-20)

 E. To Produce Mature and Complete Christians (Hebrews 13:21)

 F. To Administer the Ordinances:
 
   1. In Baptism (Matthew 28:19)
 
   2. In the Lord's Table (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

 G. To Care for People who are in Need:

   1. To Provide Food and Clothing to the Poor (Matthew 25:35-36)

   2. To Visit Those who are Sick and Widowed (James 1:27)

VI. What Have We Done and Where are We Going in 2010?

 A. Add or Conclude Ministries, Ideas and Polices that are Beneficial/Detrimental to the Health of EBC 

   1. Concluded Sunday Night Service in 2008

   2. Added Bible Community Groups in 2008

   3. Added Fellowship Time After Church in 2008

   4. Improved the Worship Flow in the Order of Service in 2008

   5. Added an Heavy Emphasis on Evangelism  in 2009

   6. Added Musical Instrumentalists that have Accentuated the Music in Worship to God in 2009

   7. Moved to a More Celebrative Worship Service in 2009     

   8. Added a Decorating Crew in 2009

   9. Added a Harvest Event as an Alternative to Halloween in 2009

   10. Added a Christmas Carol Evangelistic Walk in 2009 

 B. Assess Areas at EBC that Need Improvement

   1. Need to Develop More Ministry and Church Leaders

   2. Need for More Ministry Point People and Helpers

   3. Need for Congregational Involvement in Evangelism and Outreach

   4. Need to Build Upon and Improve the Children's and Youth Ministries

 C. Specific Focus Areas: Bring Creativity Without Compromise in Preparation for Growth

   1. Maximum Effort into Sunday Morning so that Everything is Done with Excellence to the Glory of God

   2. Continue Evangelism and Outreach Efforts to Bring People to Christ and EBC 

   3. Maintain Strong Emphasis on Discipleship to Grow and Mature Indiividually as Christians

   4. Persist in Mobilizing Congregational Involvement to Serve by Using their Spiritual Gifts

   5. Target and Develop Children's and Youth Ministries as Essential for the Growth of EBC  

   6. Care and Nurture those the Lord has Entrusted to EBC
