What is EBC Like?

Our church is very friendly and welcoming! You will feel like part of the family on your very first visit! We have a good mixture of age groups, covering everything from infants to senior saints and every age in between. Our central passion is to exalt and honor the Lord Jesus Christ in all we do. That means we are a Bible believing church and hold to the essential doctrines of Evangelical Christianity. We also are a community church in the sense that we want to reach our community with the message and love of Christ.

What to Expect During the Worship Service?

Our Sunday morning service begins at 11:00am which is introduced by a musical prelude that transitions into our Worship Team leading the congregation in the worship of Almighty God. We sing "psalms, hymns and spiritual songs" (Col 3:16) with the accompaniment of piano, guitar, drums, bongos, and other instruments to accentuate priase to our Lord Jesus Christ. The congregation stands and sings durning the worship time with the lyrics displayed up on a PowerPoint screen. Following the singing time, one of the Elders reads a portion of God’s Word, prays and then asks the ushers to collect the offering (on the first Sunday of each month we also observe the Lord’s Supper). Following the offering, we usually sing a great hymn of the faith, or periodically have special music, and then the Pastor comes to preach the Word of God. We strongly believe in expository preaching; that means that we preach from the Bible and allow God to be heard. The Bible is always relevant and life changing so we are consistent in teaching God’s Word every Sunday. After the preaching, the worship team leads the congregation in a worship song that usually ties into the message in order to drive home the main theme of the sermon. At the end of the service the Pastor comes back up on the platform and communicates any pertinent announcements and then ends with a prayer and dismissal.

What is Fellowship Time?

On the first Sunday of most months we cordially invite you join us for Fellowship Time in our gym. This time provides for you an an extended opportunity to talk to the leaders of Emmanuel Baptist Church and other members of the congregation. We provide drinks and tasty finger foods and sometimes even provide a full lunch. This time can also gives you an opportunity to learn more about our church and how you can get connected to the area of ministry that God has called you to.
